CLEP Preparation

CLEP or the College Level Examination Program is a test that is administered by the College Board. A student who wants to demonstrate his proficiency in a certain subject and have the choice not to take it during the course of earning a degree takes this exam. His proficiency may stem from a previous course he studied, life experience, work experience, or independent study.

A CLEP exam is mostly a multiple choice test. The score that a student will get will range from 20 to 80. Most schools accept a passing rate of at least 50. The tests touch areas in Business, Composition and Literature, Foreign Languages, History and Social Sciences, and Science and Mathematics. There are 33 tests in all. Each test costs $65.

If you want to earn a degree but be given credits for some courses that you’re already familiar with, you take this CLEP test. The number of tests that you take is entirely up to you. But before you take the test or tests, it is important to have some sort of CLEP preparation first.

CLEP preparation come in many forms. Obviously, CLEP preparation implies studying for the test or tests that you have to take. One way of CLEP preparation is to study independently. You can find books on the subject that you will take. You can also ask for help from people who have already taken the CLEP tests. Another good method of CLEP preparation is to turn to CLEP study guides or exam guides.
